I hold degrees in chemical engineering (BASc University of Toronto) and Environmental Engineering (M.Eng University of Western Ontario). I have also attended the Arctic Summer School (University of Alberta) and Hazardous Materials Response (George Washington University. In 2017 I obtained the Small Vessel Operators Proficiency and Marine Emergency Duties A3 Certificates. I founded Counterspil Research Inc. in 1986 and have been offering clients world-wide consulting services solely related to spills since then. The learning continues.
I have researched, applied and recommended spill response technologies, prepared contingency plans, instructed courses, and developed field guides for a wide range of clients in Canada, the US, throughout South America, and China.
